Vegas Baby, Yeah! (continued)

Speaking of girls on the street... I think this speaks for itself (zoom in if you can't see the caption under the name). Awesome.
The Monte Carlo - another fine establishment. Technically not on the strip, but you sure can see it.
Suddenly The Strip looks like home - New York, New York is an impressive recreation! Even though the buildings are half-sized versions of their real counterparts, clustered together they look pretty good... if only we had palm trees like that in New York.
New York, New York is also home to the Manhattan Express - a roller coaster that's said to be the best ride on The Strip - but I wouldn't know. Someone chickened out on riding it with me. :-( But as Drew did surprise me with this trip, I won't complain. Too much.
The Excalibar. Really. Wierd.
And The Luxor - a giant pyramid covered in 13 acres of black glass - with the world's largest atrium inside. It's huge. The exterior of the pyramid isn't well lit at night like the rest of the strip, but apparently the single beam of light that comes from the The Luxor can even be seen from space.

The Strip at night was really something to see.

We ended one night at the Bellagio - where Cirque du Soleil's O is the show we were told to see. And I'm so glad we listened!!! It was astonishing - the entire show takes place over a pool
filled with 1.5 million gallons of water. Acrobats, trapeze artists, and divers fly through the air above, while synchronized swimmers dance through the water below (and sometimes disappear below water for great lengths of time, only to magically emerge later). The music and scenery is pure whimsy - this is what Vegas should be!
And of course the Bellagio is stunning at night.

Our last morning - and I still haven't seen the fountains. So we make reservations for an early lunch at The Eiffel Tower Restaurant. Once again, my food is cold. And cold Eggs Benedict is just the worst! And then I'm told that the fountains don't start until 3 PM. So bummed!!! But our waiter let me in on a little secret - we could see a barge with people fixing one of the fountains, and he thought they might do a test run afterwards. He was right!!!

Finally I get to see the fountains!!!
And I must say that in the middle of February being nice and warm in the Eiffel Tower, cocktail in hand, is a great way to take in the show.
Back in the private entrance at the Encore's Tower Suites we wait for our cab. A short visit - but just long enough to see what Vegas is all about. Now one of you needs to have a bachelor or bachelorette party so we can all go back together and really tear up the town! :-)
